Learn Team Mission

To equip Sunday school, VBS, catechism and adult teachers and youth leaders for service to our Lord.  “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”  Matthew 28:19-20a

Who We Are

We are a team of pastors, Authorized Lay Christian Educators (ALCE), and other people interested in partnering with the Synod on behalf of education. Many members are associated with a conference: check out your partner in mission below!

LEARN Team Members

What We Do

• Learn Team Members partner with other synod organizations to provide support for the educational aspects of all programming.  Partners include:
  • Camp Mount Luther
  • Lay Ministry Institute
  • Along the Way Bookstore
  • Synod Youth Council

• Learn Team Members are available to consult with congregations on many topics.  Contact Pastor Karl-John Stone at karljohn@uss-elca.org to be paired with a consultant.  Consultants can cover the following topics:
  • Book of Faith Initiative
  • Web-based Bible study
  • Creative Bible study with middle school and high school students
  • Effective Bible studies
  • Worship planning with youth
  • Hot communications (conflict resolution)
  • Community building
  • Adult Bible studies
  • Teaching adults
