The Go Tell It IN the Mountains Initiative is creating opportunities and connections for local congregations, pastor, lay worship leaders and aspiring preachers to work toward the goals of compelling preaching and listening. This workshop will review some of those resources such as Mission Insite, AI video tutorial, Digital search engines, and training options. It is an informational session to encourage preachers and congregations in the mission of compelling preaching and engaged listening.
The church talks a lot about youth ministry theory...but "theory" doesn't help much when you're face-to-face with half-a-dozen kids in Sunday School and have no clue what to do. We're here to help. In this workshop, Chad Hershberger and Jim Vitale will give you concrete, accessible, simple tools and resources for planning Sunday school, youth group, and confirmation class lessons and activities. Come and learn the reliable methods that we have been employing successfully at camp for years!
In this workshop we will explore how God’s story has shaped us and how we can share that story with others in a variety of life situations. In other words, many stories will be told in this workshop.
For years, the congregations of Milton Lutheran Church (Milton), Christ’s Evangelical Lutheran Church (Lewisburg), and United In Christ Lutheran Church (West Milton) have been increasing their levels of partnered ministry and leadership to the joy and benefit of each congregation and their larger communities. But this did not happen overnight! There have been plenty of trials, errors, successes, and setbacks along the way, but there is no doubt that they have each been made better together in the process. Want to know where to start with your congregation and neighbors? Join Pastor Gary Schaeffer (MLC), Pastor Katy Moran (CELC), and Pastor Justin Lingenfelter (UIC) to explore the ways in which mission can be the catalyst for collaboration across congregations to create a sum greater than its individual parts.
Nothing earthbound lasts forever; everything has a life span. While we might not like to talk about it, our lives will come to an end, and so will our congregations. You may have given thought to how you would like to be remembered, but has your congregation taken the time to consider how it should be remembered? There are ways that the gifts and the good stewardship of your congregation can live on through planning with the ELCA Foundation. Come explore what that might look like, and remember: simply talking about death does not make it happen sooner.
