USSWO Convention
July 25, 2026
The Upper Susquehanna Synodical Women's Organization Annual Convention is set for July 25, 2026, at United Lutheran in Sunbury. The theme is “I am Worthy.” Rev. Beth George will be worship leader. The Ingathering will be a collection to help with the cost of purchasing items needed to fill 150 School Kits for CWS. The In-kind “offering” will be a collection of items needed for local pet shelters.

Preaching the Paradox

United Lutheran Seminary, Gettysburg PA campus, 61 Seminary Ridge, Gettysburg, PA 17325, USAPreaching matters. We are a people plagued by exhaustion, polarization, uncertainty, and spiritual hunger; the proclamation of the Gospel remains one of the church’s most vital callings. Faithful preaching has the power to comfort the afflicted, challenge complacency, inspire hope, and help communities discern God’s movement in the world.
This event brings together preachers, teachers, church leaders, and learners from across Lutheran academia for a rich experience of worship, theological reflection, practical insight, and renewal for the work of proclamation.
Participants will encounter gifted preachers, thoughtful presentations, meaningful worship, and conversations that engage both the challenges and possibilities facing the church today. Seminary Ridge is a space for encouragement, imagination, and renewal in community.

Innovation Sessions

Two members of the ELCA Innovation Lab will be traveling through the Upper Susquehanna Synod August 17-19 to listen to our thoughts and ideas, and to offer a creative boost to our efforts at shaping the mission of the synod and its congregations. We are inviting representatives from across the synod to share their thoughts on the ministry of the synod and their congregation and help dream big about what might be possible for us in the Upper SusquehannaSynod. Plan on gathering members and joining one of these Innovation Labs:
