Global Ministry Team

Our mission: To lead our synod into deeper relationship with our ELCA Global Mission partners by sharing knowledge, modeling accompaniment, and facilitating and fostering congregational connection with the global body of Christ. Our partners: We are a committee of the Upper Susquehanna Synod in service to all congregations within the synod. However, our partnerships extend far beyond the boundaries of our synod. The USS maintains relationships with a variety of global partners, including the Kirchenkreis Ansbach-Würzburg (Bavaria, Germany) and the Lutheran Church in Liberia. Prayer petitions are prepared and sent by the Upper Susquehanna Synod Global Ministry Committee. Please use them in your congregation in your intercessory prayers, print them in your bulletin or newsletter. The committee welcomes suggestions for petitions.

Our missionaries: Accompaniment is a missionary model that seeks to establish a relationship of mutual love and respect with our brothers and sisters in Christ around the world through which we may all come to a deeper understanding of God’s work in the world. Therefore, we strive to uplift one another in faith and to deepen our relationships with our Global Mission partners, as God calls us to accompany our brothers and sisters in Christ.
