Since 2011, our synod has been providing “Christmas-at-Sea” gift bags to Seafarers and International House (SIH) in New York City. Lutheran port chaplains deliver these to East Coast ship crews during the Advent and Christmas seasons. These hardworking, lonely freighter crews are responsible for 90 percent of the world’s trade via merchant ships. Gift sacks to fill, with detailed instructions that must be followed, are available at the Synod Office. Please bring completed bags into the synod office before November 5, 2025.
