Synod Unveils New Logo

There’s a new logo for the Upper Susquehanna Synod! In the past few months, we’ve slowly rolled out the new design which has been under development most of this year. You may have seen it first on graphics on the screen at Synod Assembly and then on shirts that were worn by our voting members to ELCA Churchwide Assembly this summer in Arizona.

Jim Vitale, Camp Mount Luther’s Associate Director designed the logo which features a cross, mountains, and a river. These were identified by synod staff as the most representative images of our synod.

We’ve used the synod seal that was developed at our birth in 1988 and most recently used the ELCA branding. Many synods have opted to create their own logos in the last few years, and we followed suit.
