Up and Down the Valleys: April 2026

A community Easter Egg Hunt was held in Millmont for children ages 0 to 12 on Saturday, March 28. It was sponsored by the churches of the Buffalo Valley Lutheran Parish, Christ’s United, Millmont, and First, Mifflinburg (Pastor Curt Wingert).

The Lay Ministry Institute (LMI) sponsored a worship practicum held at Washingtonville Lutheran Church (Vicar Diane Booth Bubb).  Thirty-three individuals attended the event facilitated by Bishop Craig Miller and Rev. Dr. Lois Martin.  Following a time of lunch and fellowship, a worship service with Holy Communion was held with Bishop Miller presiding and Dr. Martin preaching.  Sandy Bennett and Bishop Miller played their guitars and Dr. Martin provided piano accompaniment.  Please save the date for additional workshop opportunities as part of the LMI “A Variety of Gifts” learning day planned for May 2.

Pastors and lay leaders renewed their vows at the Annual Chrism Mass held during Holy Week at Milton Lutheran (Pastor Gary Schaeffer). Bottles of Chrism are available at the Synod Office. An additional thanks for the offering of $152, which will go to Global Refuge.
