Schaeffer next SU Chaplain
Pastor Stina Schaeffer, our assistant to the bishop for mobility and transition, is leaving that position and her call as pastor of Salem, Selinsgrove. Pastor Schaeffer is joining the Susquehanna University community as the next Chaplain and Director of Religious & Spiritual Life. She begins her new role on December 1st.
Schaeffer is a 2010 graduate of the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia and a 2004 graduate of Susquehanna University with a M.A. in music- voice. Prior to serving at Salem, she served calls in Highland Lake, NY, and Huntingdon Valley, PA.
Schaeffer and her family will move into the chaplain’s home on campus. She is married to Gary, pastor of the Milton Lutheran Church. They have two children, Gabriel and Ellie, and an English Springer Spaniel, Remi.
We wish Stina well in her new position and are excited for opportunities to partner with her in new ways in her new role. Other synod staff will fill-in her synod responsibilities in the short-term.
