Up and Down the Valleys: November 2025

  • News

On October 25, Washingtonville Lutheran Church (Vicar Diane Booth Bubb) welcomed the community to our Feast of Abundance dinner.   Through this we raised funds to help support the Jane DeLong Memorial Center in their mission of providing community events and maintaining the museum, which keeps the rich history of Washingtonville alive. This event was sponsored in part by Kindling Faith and the Stewardship of Life Institute (SOLI) of the United Lutheran Seminary.  Church members and others from the Washingtonville area planned and provided this time of eating together and fellowship.  We look forward to participating in more community events.

Congratulations to Pastor Rosalie Smith (retired) on the 35th anniversary of her ordination on November 11, 1990.

The latest monthly Synod Youth Group gatherings gathered middle and high school youth. The first was a. Two groups solved two mysteries during Mystery Afternoon in October. The second event was a ping pong tournament at Sharon, Selinsgrove. The Synod Youth Initiative is sponsoring monthly activities for synod youth to gather and experience fellowship, recreation, outreach, and growth.

The Upper Susquehanna Synod Youth Team is looking to send as many youth as we can to Winterfest on January 2-4, 2026, at the Wyndham Resort in Lancaster. This is a great weekend of faith formation, fun, and fellowship with fellow youth, sponsored by the Lower Susquehanna Synod. Encourage youth to attend and consider being an adult chaperone. Reach out to cml@campmountluther.org if you are interested and/or need a scholarship.
