Up and Down the Valleys: December 2025
On December 6, the Southern Clinton County Lutheran Parish (Deacon Sandy Grier and Minister Ed Coup) hosted a St. Nicholas Day Celebration at St. Paul’s, Mill Hall. They prayed, heard stories of St. Nicholas, played a game, created crafts and ate together. On December 7, a Christmas hymn sing and tureen dinner was hosted by St. John’s, Booneville and St. Paul’s Loganton. On December 13, they celebrated their 2nd Annual Cookie Exchange at Salona Lutheran with a game, singing, fellowship, a craft and of course lots of cookies.
On December, Washingtonville (Vicar Diane Booth Bubb) hosted a “Soup Saturday” gathering for the public featuring great soups, bread, dessert, and fellowship. Laundry detergent and other household items were distributed to households. Those who attended were also able to pick up various items, including clothing, knick-knacks, and personal care items. The ministry impacted 52 individuals. Soup Saturday is a regular mission of Washingtonville and is funded in part by funds from Thrivent.
A big crowd turned out for the Advent Hike and Youth and Young Adult Christmas Party on December 7 at Camp Mount Luther. It was a time of faith, fellowship, and bear prints! Scripture speaking to the coming of the Messiah, carols, good food and fellowship were featured. The camp is also now accepting summer staff applications at campmountluther.org/jobs. Candidates must possess a commitment to Christ, a passion for the outdoors, and strong leadership and teamwork skills.
