United In Christ, West Milton (Pastor Justin Lingenfelter) held their first God’s Global Table in November. Celebrating the gift of God’s table that unites us to neighbors worldwide, they had breads from around the world to choose from during communion, and members brought bread to share.

 

 

Pastor Jake Jacobson was the speaker at the latest Bishop’s Day. He talked about “front porch” evangelism.

 

 

With a chill in the air and a light dusting of freshly fallen snow adding to the ambience, St. John’s, Potts Grove (Pastor Lisa Barnes) held a drive-thru Live Nativity on December 13. About 25-30 cars came through to view the nativity, and there was even some foot traffic from the fire company next door.

On December 16th, Washingtonville Lutheran (Vicar Diane Bubb) hosted the Mobile Food Pantry, which provided essential food items to 13 families in the area.  Those served were invited into the social hall for a clothing distribution, warm beverages and snacks, as well as engaging in fellowship.

 

The synod’s new faith community, CaTALYST, gathered in mid-December to Christmas carol at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village. They sang to residents in the nursing center.
