Women’s Outreach Gathering
The Fellowship Hall at Messiah, New Berlin (Minister Bev Hoffman) came alive March 24 as 62 women gathered for the first Women’s Outreach Work event, an afternoon highlighting service, creativity, and collaboration across the Susquehanna Valley. Inspired by Lutheran World Relief’s National Quilting Day, the event showcased outreach efforts supporting individuals and families throughout the region.
Participants represented a range of organizations, including Fierce Love 4 Good, Expectations, Camp Koala, Comfort Quilts, Union County Giving Closet, Journey to Justice, and the New Berlin Food Pantry, along with volunteers who assemble care kits for Lutheran World Relief. Interactive stations guided participants through each step of the quilting process—from selecting and cutting fabric to stitching and tying quilts that are donated annually to those in need. Volunteers shared techniques and stories, highlighting both craftsmanship and mission.
Throughout the event, a spirit of unity was evident. The strong turnout reflected growing interest in outreach and a desire to strengthen partnerships across the region.
