The Community Longest Night Worship Service will be held on Saturday, December 21, at 2:00 p.m. at Covenant Central Presbyterian Church (807 West Fourth St., Williamsport) A time of fellowship and light refreshments will follow the service. In this season, when the world seems overcome with joy, many of us find ourselves feeling other emotions. This ecumenical, community worship service is designed to bring peace to those who are experiencing sorrow, pain or loneliness during the season. We come to share one another’s burdens, sadness and fears and we gather to offer hope and encouragement to each other. We are not alone. Emmanuel, God is with us. It was into a world of pain, hurt and confusion that God came, in the form and nature of Jesus Christ, so many years ago and God’s everlasting peace and comforting presence remains with us still.
